High School Advice

Well last night, I talked to my parents about advice for high school. They gave me some useful stuff and not so useful stuff. So it was useful I guess...

I guess the most useful piece of advice was probably that the hardest transition from middle school to high school, is finals. They said that it is the hardest thing to change to, because in middle school, the year just winds down and you don't do much, but in high school, you have to remember everything you learned and then put it on paper.

The other two pieces of advice were kind of stuff you already know. One was avoid negative peer pressure. The second was not to get mixed up with the wrong crowd. Those two are things everyone knows, just some people don't follow it.

Well that was the advice my parents gave me. I'm not sure what this accomplishes but, you know, whatever.

School in a Perfect World

I don't like school and here are some reasons why. Grades don't necessarily show how good you are doing in school, just what you are willing to do for a letter with no meaning, which leads me to my next gripe, Homework. Homework is pointless; it is school away from school. School and home are separate places and should not mix. I also believe I also think school should start later and end later. As you can see, school is far from perfect, and probably never will be, but here is how I would design a perfect world.

To deal with grades, I think they should be replaced with a system that encourages students to work hard. Students do not want a letter that means nothing. I would suggest giving more freedom, fun, and choice for those who want to try, but for those who just don't care, they should be restrained to just a boring school experience. I think school should be fun, for those who try.

To deal with homework, it should not exist. The only thing related to homework should be studying. I think the school system should be more like college; tests are the only things that count are tests. We can put forward the effort we want, and get back what we put in.

School would start at 9:30 and end at 5:30. I don't like the time that school starts. I think the later start would allow for students to get a more full night of sleep. The later end would make up for the late start and allow for less days of school.

I doubt I would like school either way but I think those changes would make it better and more enjoyable to participate in.

University Hero

I know I haven't posted in a long time, but I finally ate out! I ate a great sandwich at University Hero.   (which is one of my favorite places to eat in town) I got the brown bag special for $8 which included a full sandwich, a bowl of macaroni salad, and a drink. I am a very picky eater so, all I got was a turkey, cheese, and lettuce sandwich on white bread. I am a huge fan of macaroni salad so I ate that first. One of my only problems with macaroni salad, is the fact that sometimes there is too many crunchy vegetables The amount of macaroni to celery ratio was perfect! It had just the right amount of crunch for the macaroni. The sandwich was good too. The amount of lettuce was a bit excessive but otherwise it was good! I love their bread, it is always perfect. Alright so to sum it all up

  • Outstanding macaroni salad
  • Great price for the amount and quality of food you get
  • Large amount of lettuce
  • Great bread.
Overall I would give this brown bag special a delicious 9/10.
Thank you so much for giving me your valuable time and reading my blog. I hope you enjoyed.
